Our address is Bhavnath Taleti, Taleti Road, Girnar, Bhavnath, Junagadh district, Gujarat 362002. This is the foot of Mount Girnar — the spot from which the long stone stairway climbs, with the Bhavnath Mahadev temple and Mrigi Kund close at hand, and where the Girnar Lili Parikrama both starts and finishes.
From most parts of Junagadh the distance is roughly 5 to 10 km. If you are unsure about the last turn, ring the ashram office on +91 96274 27283 and we will talk you through it.
Coming by train
Junagadh Junction is the closest major railway station, about 5 to 6 km from Girnar Taleti. Trains link the town with Rajkot, Ahmedabad and other cities in Gujarat; look up current timings and seat availability on the railway booking sites before you finalise plans. Outside the station, an auto-rickshaw or taxi covers the distance to Bhavnath Taleti in a short ride.
Coming by bus or car
Highways bring traffic into Junagadh from every direction, and state and private buses connect it with Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Somnath and other towns. The Junagadh bus stand lies only a few kilometres from the base of Girnar. Approximate distances to Junagadh:
| Starting point | Distance to Junagadh | Usual journey time |
|---|---|---|
| Rajkot | about 110 km | around 2 hours |
| Ahmedabad | about 335 km | around 6.5 to 7 hours |
| Somnath | about 95 km | around 2 hours |
| Sasan Gir | about 65 to 77 km | around 1.5 hours |
| Vadodara | about 400 km | around 7 hours |
Treat these as rough guides; the actual time depends on the route and the traffic.
Coming by air
For most travellers Rajkot is the handiest large airport, around 100 km from Junagadh. Porbandar is a similar distance, and Ahmedabad is about 320 km away. Keshod, roughly 40 km from Junagadh, has an airport too, though few flights use it — check the schedule before counting on it. From any of these, take a taxi or bus to Junagadh and then a short auto or taxi ride on to Bhavnath Taleti.
The last few kilometres
Autos, taxis, local buses and shared jeeps all run between Junagadh and Girnar Taleti, and the road passes Ashoka’s rock edict on the way. During the big gatherings — the Girnar Lili Parikrama in November and the Bhavnath Mela around Maha Shivratri — the roads near the temple area are packed and local traffic arrangements can apply. Leave extra time, or arrive the day before.
